Logline

A drone operator working a conflict eight thousand miles away begins to recognize the people on his screen, and discovers his chain of command has been rewriting what he is allowed to see.

REAPER is a film about distance — the technical, legal, and psychological machinery built to keep killing at arm's length, and what happens to a man when that machinery starts to fail in his direction.

It is not an issue film. It is a procedural about a job, performed competently, by someone who is very good at it, until competence stops being enough.

Story & World

Two geographies held in one frame: a windowless facility in the high desert, and a street the audience only ever sees from above.

Violence in film is usually either weightless or operatic. I'm interested in the third option: violence that is boring, procedural, and permanent.
